About Us

Lea Wood Cattery came about 6 years after buying a farmhouse just outside Gainsborough.  After buying her foundation queen - Dixie- a chocolate point Birman and having a fantastic first year showing around the country Liz came up with an idea to open a Cattery.  As the site is in a conservation area it is a lovely tranquil place to bring your feline friends for a holiday.  In each thermostatically controlled run there is an activity station with toys supplied by the Cattery and in the centre of the courtyard there is a beautiful fountain for added interest.

Cat friendly plants have been chosen and the site is set out to ensure that every furry visitor has a lovely vista.

If your cat has a special medical condition then you can be assured that we will liaise with our own vet and yours to ensure a stress free stay.  Special diets are no problem and can be catered for on request.  Liz and Ian have taken every care to make sure that every visitor receives the VIP treatment and with the experience they have gained through their own cats and from attending Cat Welfare and Club Meetings you can be assured that your furry friend will be in safe hands.

Lea Wood Cattery is a West Lindsey District Council licensed boarding establishment.  Our cattery has been designed so that cats are accommodated in individual, spacious, heated houses, which have been designed in accordance with Feline Advisory Bureau (F.A.B) specifications. Each cat house and adjoining run is large enough to accommodate 2 cats from the same household, and we also have some family houses that are suitable for up to 4 cats.

Only cats that are from the same household may share, and there are full height impermeable sneeze barriers between each run.

Each cat house is equipped with it’s own thermostatically controlled heater, bed(s) and vet bedding (although you are welcome to bring your cat’s own bed and bedding if preferred).

No expense has been spared in order to ensure that your cat is looked after in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

Our Vet - is on call 24 hours a day and the Cattery is secured by Intruder alarms for added protection.

We respectfully ask those clients who have Dowdings as their Veterinary Surgery to let Liz and Ian know their wishes regarding out of hours services as these have now changed and the Surgery are now no longer offering these services locally, therefore, if your cat/s were to fall ill during their stay we will need to know your intentions relating to care outside of normal surgery times.
